J. Gabriel Irwin

Based in London. Co-founder and director of Smith Barney Global Capital Management for 8 years until 1995, afterwards joining Prudential Financial (USA) to set up PRICOA Global Asset Management. From 2000 he was Head of European Corporate Development responsible for building, through acquisition and joint venturing, Prudential’s European asset management businesses. Following the 2002 establishment of Oppenheim Pramerica (Germany and Luxembourg) and UBI Pramerica SGR (Italy), Gabriel became Prudential’s European CEO, overseeing AUM of US$ 45bn.
